Quixotic? Is that even a word?

The word “quixotic” comes from Miguel de Cervantes’s Don Quixote.

Wikipedia describes Don Quixote as follows:  “While mostly a rational man of sound reason, reading Romances in excess, or books of chivalry, has had a profound effect on Don Quixote, leading to the distortion of his perception and the wavering of his mental faculties.”   Most famously, Don Quixote attacks windmills, believing they are giants.

Oftentimes, I am the Don Quixote of motherhood.   Windmills beware.
